SUMMARY:Firearms Hunter Safety Class- Traditional Course - Brewer
DESCRIPTION:The Maine Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination because of race\, color\, sex\, sexual orientation\, age\, physical or mental disability\, genetic information\, religion\, ancestry or national origin. \nAny person who needs accommodations to participate in a program should contact the office at 207-287-5220 or jaime.berard@maine.gov to discuss their needs in advance. \n************************************************************************* \nTraditional in-person courses are available to all students and are taught by trained\, certified volunteer instructors who meet state and international standards. Volunteer instructors provide valuable information to new hunters including insight into the sport of hunting\, resources and support. In-person courses provide students with the opportunity to ask questions of instructors and gain further guidance. There is a $5.00 per student fee to help cover facility or cleaning costs. \nThis is an in-person course that requires students to attend two all day sessions. \nRequirements for attending this class are: \n• Those 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult\, 13–17 year-olds will need to have a parents signature. \n• A Survival Kit. Families may share a kit. The kit must include a pocketknife\, fire starting kit\, magnetic compass\, whistle\, water treatment device\, a small flashlight\, singling device\, a large contractor trash bag\, food\, cordage\, first aid supplies\, and a space blanket. \n• Bring your lunch. To keep things moving we will have lunch during the class. \n• Bring your own water or drinks. \n• Bring a pen to take the test and you are welcome to bring latex gloves or anything else to make your experience safe. \nHealth Requirements: \n• If you have a fever or you are not feeling well you cannot attend. \n• Families are welcome to sit together. \nFor more information about options for Firearms Hunter Safety\, click here . \nReserve a Spot

DESCRIPTION:2024 BIGGEST DEER CONTEST\nThe PCCA Big Deer Contest is open for the 2024 Maine Deer Seasons. \n This contest is open to all PCCA members and their families. \nThere is no entry fee. \nHarvested deer may be entered from the Archery\, Firearms\, Muzzleloader\, and Expanded archery seasons.\nWinners will be awarded the coveted PCCA Deer Contest hat. \nCategories are Biggest Buck (by weight)\, Biggest Doe (by Weight)\, and Junior Hunters.   \nWinners will be announced at the January 2025 dinner meeting. \nYou can enter your deer by email PCCABIGDEERCONTEST@GMAIL.COM\nor text message to Ken (207) 356-8936. \nPlease provide him with a photo and relevant details (harvest date\, weight\, # of points\, and a picture).  \n If you have a great or unusual deer hunting story\, please share it with Ken\, so that he can jazz up the deer contest summary at the January meeting.

SUMMARY:Annual Duck Box Days
DESCRIPTION:PCCA’s Annual Duck Box Days are held twice a year\, once in the winter\, and once in the spring. \nJoin PCCA members to assist with and learn about Duck Boxes!  How they are cleaned\, maintained and much more.  Attendees will  meet in Stetson at the end of the New Sweden Road.  Bring a lunch\, snacks\, water and dress appropriately.  IF you have a snowsled or tote sled\, you are welcome to and encouraged to bring it.  Depending on conditions\, snowshoes or skis may be useful. \nA Canoe or Kayak in Spring\, There will be a fire going at our camp\, which is further in the road\, for use at lunch time and for warm up.  Please contact Barry Burgason at b.burgason52@gmail.com for information and to reserve your spot!  Many folks have assisted us in the past and this is a wonderful way to learn about duck boxes and give a hand to help.  All are welcome!  We look forward to meeting new friends!  There is no cost to attend!
